Tottori ken ("Ken" in Japanese means prefecture) is the seventh smallest prefecture in Japan, located in the San-in region of the Chugoku region, facing the Sea of ​​Japan in western Honshu. Its capital is Tottori City.The entire prefecture is designated as a heavy snow area, but with many sunny days in spring and autumn. It is divided into three sections: eastern, central, and western, with Mt. Daisen, the highest peak in the Chugoku region, as the dividing line. Although it has the smallest population of any prefecture in Japan, it has one of the highest birth rates in the country.
