This giant tree is famous for its resemblance to Totoro from the anime movie
"My Neighbor Totoro," and is also known as the "Totoro Tree."
The tree species is the same as the natural cedars in Mogami Gorge, and
is also known as Jindai Cedar. It is estimated to be about 1,000 years
old. It is about 20 meters tall, has a circumference of 6.3 meters, and
a branch spread of 17 meters. The mountain god is enshrined at its base.
As a single tree that stands apart at the base, it is also known as the
Couple Cedar, the Tree of Marriage, and the Tree of Fertility, and is known
as a power spot. During the winter (late November to early April), the
road to this large cedar and the parking lot are closed due to snow accumulation. |

pink mountain cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in early summer,

on the mountains on both banks in winter. You'll be overwhelmed by the
majestic scenery of the mountains looming on both banks. This is a regular
route that operates all year round and is open to single passengers without
reservations. The travel distance is approximately 12 kilometers, and the
boat ride takes about 60 minutes. |
